RETA IS IMPORTANT!
The Refrigeration Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) is a vital part of the industrial refrigeration industry. The mission of RETA is to advance the professional development of industrial refrigeration operators and technical engineers. RETA chapters encourage and mentor refrigeration technicians. They offer tutoring and study opportunities to prepare for the RETA certification exams including the CIRO, CARO, and CRES. These certifications are a huge accomplishment for refrigeration techs because they provide proof of their knowledge and skill and promote consistent and safe operation of important refrigeration systems.
THE ROLE OF REFRIGERATION TECHNICIANS
Industrial refrigeration is a dangerous job! Refrigerant gases are highly pressurized. Some are toxic while others are flammable. All have the potential to be immediately dangerous to the life and health of the people working in the facility. RETA certified technicians play a key role in monitoring systems for refrigerant leaks. They are responsible for choosing, installing, maintaining and responding to gas detectors. CTI respects and honors the important people who play this role.
